Overview of the Omada Fusion Series
What is the Omada Fusion Series?
The Omada Fusion Series is Omada's next-generation all-in-one networking solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses. It simplifies network deployment, management, and maintenance by integrating multiple network management functions into a single platform, allowing businesses to build and operate their networks more efficiently while avoiding recurring cloud licensing costs through license-free cloud management. The solution is particularly suitable for organizations that require simple deployment, centralized management, and remote administration.
Business Challenges It Solves
Many SMBs face challenges such as:
- Complex network deployment and maintenance
- Fragmented management platforms
- Limited IT resources
- Increasing operational costs
- Difficulty managing multiple locations
The Omada Fusion Series addresses these challenges through centralized cloud management, simplified deployment, remote monitoring, and integrated networking services. It is well suited for offices, retail stores, restaurants, clinics, hospitality environments, and distributed branch networks.
Fusion Product Portfolio
The Omada Fusion portfolio currently consists of two solution families:
Fusion Series:
Designed for organizations that primarily require networking functionality, the Fusion Series combines gateway and controller capabilities in a single platform for simplified network management.
Fusion Pro Series:
Designed for organizations that require both networking and surveillance management, the Fusion Pro Series extends the platform with integrated video management, camera administration, and local video storage capabilities.
Representative products include:
- Fusion G+
- Fusion 2.5G
- Fusion 2.5G PoE
- Fusion Pro 2.5G
- Fusion Pro 2.5G PoE
The Role of the Fusion Gateway
The Fusion Gateway serves as the foundation of the Omada solution. It combines gateway and controller functionality within a single appliance, enabling centralized management of Omada networking devices through a unified interface. The Fusion Pro Gateway unifies network and surveillance devices into a single ecosystem, delivering an integrated networking and security solution.
By consolidating multiple management functions into one device, it reduces hardware requirements, simplifies deployment, and streamlines day-to-day administration.
Core Features and Key Benefits of Omada Fusion
LightLink VPN
Provides secure remote network access with a simple invitation-based setup. Users can connect to the site from anywhere through the Navi App without complex VPN configuration, making remote management and troubleshooting easier. Supports up to 253 users/sessions, enabling secure and scalable remote access for small to medium-sized deployments. In addition, Fusion Gateways support multiple VPN standards, including IPsec, OpenVPN, and WireGuard, to accommodate diverse remote access and site-to-site networking requirements.
Full-Mesh SD-WAN
Enables fast deployment of multi-site networks by automatically creating direct connections between sites. It simplifies branch networking and improves communication efficiency across distributed locations. Supports up to 20 sites, making it ideal for small to medium-sized multi-branch deployments.
App-Based Access Control
Allows administrators to manage Internet access based on applications and categories instead of IP addresses and ports. Policies can be configured more intuitively to improve security and user experience.
One-Click Auto QoS
Automatically prioritizes critical applications such as video conferencing, voice, and business services. This helps ensure a smooth experience for latency-sensitive traffic with minimal configuration effort.
Content Filtering & Ad Blocking
Blocks access to unwanted websites and reduces intrusive advertisements across the network. This improves security, enhances productivity, and provides a cleaner browsing experience.
License-Free Cloud Management
Includes a built-in controller and cloud management capability without requiring additional licenses or subscriptions. Administrators can centrally manage devices and sites through the Omada cloud platform.
Simplified Deployment
Supports Bluetooth-based onboarding and automatic discovery of Omada devices. This significantly reduces deployment time and simplifies network setup for installers and MSPs.
Unified Gateway and Controller
Combines gateway and controller functions into a single device, reducing hardware requirements and simplifying network management through a unified platform.
Enterprise-Class Security and Reliability
Supports features such as IDS/IPS, VPN, Multi-WAN load balancing, and automatic WAN failover, helping businesses maintain secure and reliable network connectivity.
Fusion Series vs. Fusion Pro Series
The choice between Fusion and Fusion Pro primarily depends on whether surveillance management is required in addition to networking.
Choose Fusion if you need:
- Network management only
- License-free cloud management
- VPN, SD-WAN, and advanced networking features
- Simplified deployment and administration
Choose Fusion Pro if you need:
- Network and surveillance management on a single platform
- Camera management
- Video recording and SSD-based local storage
- Live view and playback
- Omada Guard functionality
