Introduction

Omada Software Controller (Omada Network Application) can manage deployments ranging from small networks to large-scale enterprise environments. However, to ensure optimal performance, it is important to use servers with sufficient CPU and RAM resources.

This document provides the recommended server specifications for different deployment sizes based on Omada Software Controller v6.3, helping ensure stable operation and sufficient performance.

It is also important to note that with each Omada Software Controller upgrade, new features may require additional hardware resources, so it is recommended to leave some room for scalability.

[1] For deployments managing more than 3,000 Omada devices, additional controller optimization is recommended. Please refer to Parameters Optimization of Omada SDN Controller for a Better Performance under Large-Scale Network for tuning recommendations and best practices.

[2] Omada Software Controller is I/O-intensive and the number of vCPUs is critical to performance.

[3] Only RAM occupied by Omada Software Controller and its MongoDB database is included in the recommended, not that occupied by the operating system. It should be noted that the Windows OS might consume more than 4GB of RAM, which should be taken into account.

[4] Only disk space occupied by Omada Software Controller and its MongoDB database is included, and SSD is highly recommended.

Conclusion

Selecting appropriate server hardware is essential for maintaining Omada Controller performance and scalability. If future expansion is expected, deploying hardware with additional CPU, memory, and storage capacity beyond the recommended specifications is advised.
